Support desk to founder. Every job on this list involved keeping servers up for people who were paying for them.

   Started Kemit to build privacy tools without the usual BS. I set product strategy, architecture and infrastructure across a lineup of 15+ planned consumer and business products, and build most of it myself.

   • Shipped KemitPass, a zero-knowledge password manager: PostgreSQL behind Cloudflare Tunnel, custom Stripe billing.
   • Built the company's own HR portal, billing platform, customer auth and dashboards, and a real-time support chat stack.
   • In progress: KemitVPN, Kemnir, KemDoc, RoamVeil and Nevrit.

   Operations Manager Sep 2020 – Present

   Run day-to-day operations for a Minecraft and Rust server host, and own the escalations support cannot close.

   • Keep the support queue and escalations moving, and take the hardest broken-server cases myself.
   • Get new Minecraft releases and snapshots onto the control panel on release day.
   • Write the customer-facing tutorials, and run promotions and launch posts.

   Support Agent Jun 2019 – Sep 2020

   Front-line tickets and live chat for Minecraft and Rust customers, doing whatever it took to get a server running and keep it healthy.

   • Crash triage end to end: read crash reports and stack traces, find the plugin, mod or config that caused it, and get the server back up without losing the world.
   • Performance tuning: profile TPS and MSPT with spark and Timings, track down lag machines, entity build-up and bad plugins, and set JVM heap and GC flags for the plan size.
   • World repair and recovery: fix corrupted chunks and region files, roll back griefed or broken areas, restore from backups, and pre-generate and trim worlds.
   • Software and versions: set up and migrate between Vanilla, Spigot, Paper, Purpur, Forge, Fabric and modpacks.
   • Networks and access: BungeeCord and Velocity proxies, Geyser for Bedrock crossplay, LuckPerms permission trees, whitelists, ops and server.properties.
   • Everyday tickets too: connection problems, plugin and mod installs, billing questions and panel how-tos.

   My start in cyber security. MANAWARE was the company behind ManaVPN and my first security projects. It was scrapped, but it is where I learned the trade and the ideas carried straight into Kemit Security.

   Technical Support Analyst

   Aug 2018 – Aug 2020 · Contract · Remote

   Technical support for a Minecraft hosting provider's control panel, covering everything from first install to fixing broken servers.

   • Diagnosed and fixed customer servers: crash loops, failed startups, plugin and mod conflicts, out-of-memory errors, corrupted worlds and version mismatches.
   • Installed and configured server software, plugins, mods and modpacks, and walked customers through permissions, configs and world uploads.
   • Ran special projects for the CTO, including testing every server startup flag against each new Java release so the panel presets kept working when customers upgraded.
   • Diagnosed panel-side problems within the preset options and reported anything deeper to the CTO.
   • Resolved customer issues quickly and kept them informed while doing it.
   • Worked with other teams to weigh solutions and coordinate development work.
   • Helped customers understand their options and pick the right plan.

   Support Agent

   Jul 2019 – Apr 2020 · Contract · Remote

   Support for a UK Minecraft hosting company, in parallel with the Server Pro and RAMShard roles. A big part of the job was modpacks.

   • Installed and set up modpacks for customers: CurseForge, FTB and Technic packs, custom packs, and the matching Forge or Fabric server builds.
   • Fixed modpack servers that would not start: missing or client-only mods, version mismatches between mods and loader, broken configs, and out-of-memory crashes on heavy packs.
   • Updated packs between versions without losing worlds, and matched server packs to what players had installed so they could connect.
   • Handled the rest of the queue too: crashes, lag, plugin setup, world issues, connection errors and version upgrades.
